CORPORATE ELECTRONICS RECYCLING SERVICES
IT Asset Management, Recovery and Distribution Services
Recycletronics offers services designed to provide a seamless solution to IT asset management. Our
services have been created to direct the logistics of each program, minimizing the day-to-day attention
needed by our clients while allowing them to focus on the core competencies of their business.
Since inception, Recycletronics has specialized in the recovery and distribution of
technology-related assets.
Our experience in this field allows us to efficiently decommission and evaluate our clients’ equipment to determine
the optimal outcome for these assets. Using our knowledge in the area of asset valuation, we estimate the worth of
each piece of client equipment upon receipt at our facility and deliver a report to our client. The client then has
the opportunity to re-deploy the asset within their organization or offer the asset for resale, donation, or recycling.
Recycletronics manages information related to each client asset by providing Internet based reporting on the status,
specifications, and location of all assets in our inventory. We also offer risk management solutions by protecting
confidential client information stored in the storage spaces of the assets themselves.
With Recycletronics, you will be dealing with a single point of contact for the deinstallation, removal, data
erasure, and disposition of your equipment. Our distribution services maximize the return on our clients' IT assets
by utilizing the most efficient market for this rapidly depreciating equipment. Our strategy supports the individual
or bulk sale of decommissioned technology assets worldwide via our extensive U.S. based and international wholesale
channels. Our asset recovery program is organized to deliver what makes most economic sense for our clients; Consignment
or Direct Purchase.
Under consignment scenario, we manage all end-of-life issues by designating an exclusive client contact for all
equipment dispositions. As old equipment expires, the client can contact our representative to arrange for its pick
up and transport to a designated Recycletronics facility.
- Recycletronics will provide an inventory and Web-based tracking of all deinstalled client assets.
- Recycletronics can coordinate and implement all aspects of the decommissioning process, from deinstallation, transportation, and warehousing, to the ultimate disposal of the assets. Dealing with a single service provider throughout this process can reduce client costs and condense the timeline, from deinstallation to disposition.
- Information related to the deinstalled assets can be used to determine the optimal outcome for technology equipment. The client may find that many of their decommissioned assets can be reinstalled at other client locations, saving valuable capital resources that would have otherwise been spent to procure new assets.
Deinstallation is planned to minimize interference with the on going business activities of our clients. We coordinate all activities with direct communication with your IT personnel to eliminate any network down time. A list of all assets to be removed will be generated and reviewed by the deinstallation team prior to disconnecting assets to eliminate the risk of deinstalling the wrong equipment.
Our experience with a large network of trucking companies nationwide and abroad as well as our own trucks make us your best choice for arranging all aspects of your asset removal. Recycletronics will coordinate everything from the size of the vehicles and labor force required to perform the removal to moving tools and material required to prepare the assets for the move. We arrange for any permits required by local governments as well as planning the storage facilities most suitable to each removal activity.
All assets may be tagged for to create a list of decommissioned assets. This list can be reconciled to the assets received at Recycletronics facilities, providing assurance that the proper assets were decommissioned and reducing the risk of equipment loss or shrinkage.
All assets received at Recycletronics facilities are sorted into basic categories such as PCs, monitors, printers, network equipment, etc. Items destined for wholesale and as-is sales (typically low end equipment) may not be tested due to low prices associated with these items. Other items will be tested in accordance with strictest standards.
Recycletronics can execute the removal of confidential client data from the storage space of technology equipment. This is an often-overlooked aspect of the decommissioning process that can have very serious implications for our clients if not handled properly.
Recycletronics sales and marketing staff will use their many years of experience and knowledge of the technology related industries to estimate the appropriate market prices for the all resalable assets. (See online auctions section under Resale for additional information.)
Recycletronics expert technicians are trained to diagnose potential problems with technology assets and perform repairs efficiently. Repairs are performed only when required. This requirement is typically decided based on the cost benefit analysis between the resale value of a faulty asset vs. the value of that asset after it has been repaired, taking into account the repair cost.
We can help you determine the most favorable method to dispose of this equipment by appraising technology assets and coordinating your disposition based on the assets’ residual value. We coordinate the distribution of your technology equipment through one of the following methods:
If an organization determines that a sale of technology assets is the most attractive option, the challenge is then to identify a potential buyer for the used equipment. Once this buyer is found, the process to execute the sale and transfer the goods will be time-consuming and inefficient. The seller must determine the buyer to be credit-worthy, the buyer must inspect the merchandise to ascertain its quality, and the transportation of goods from the seller to the buyer must be coordinated. The end result is that both parties spend considerable time and resources on a function outside of their business’s revenue-producing core competency. Recycletronics unique approach to asset management enables our clients to maximize the return on their technology investments by coordinating the sale of excess or idle technology inventory on their behalf. Our strong distribution relationships and experience in the resale of decommissioned technology (through our wholesale outlet or e-commerce strategy) ensure that our clients’ inventory is turned quickly for maximum value. The end result is the reduction of client holding costs, protection against the erosion of the equipment’s value in the resale market and ultimately, a decrease in the net cost to our clients of managing their technology assets.
The advent of the Internet offers the opportunity to quickly and efficiently sell used technology assets. An online marketplace can transcend geographic boundaries, bringing together buyers and sellers from around the globe. The transparency offered by an e-commerce marketplace and the price efficiency established by an auction format create more optimal prices for these assets, benefiting both buyers and sellers.
Recognizing this opportunity, Recycletronics distribution strategy focuses on maximizing the selling price of our client’s technology assets through a coordinated e-commerce effort. Our primary approach is to execute the sale of assets through the Recycletronics Online Marketplace. In order to ensure that we continue to receive top dollar on sales all equipment however, we designate a small portion of this inventory to be sold through a multiple auction format, whereby we sell small quantities of assets on a targeted number of other auction sites. The results of these sales are weighed carefully against the value we receive for like assets through our own site to ensure that we are selling in a truly efficient marketplace.
Assets that would return limited value under an e-commerce strategy can be sold easily through our wholesale call center. These are assets that are often most profitably sold in bulk or have value to only a very specific segment of the market. Through our relationships with wholesalers and dealers, we have the ability to sell this equipment quickly and profitably on behalf of our clients.
Recycletronics experience in handling technology equipment enables us to quickly and easily assess the valuation of decommissioned client assets. If the value of the assets is such that resale would not be a cost-effective option, we have the ability to donate the assets to charity on behalf of our client. In addition to creating goodwill for the client in the community, this activity often generates a tax deduction as well.
As many organizations refresh their technology equipment, they wish to offer decommissioned assets to their employees. This is often an effective way to receive value for the assets while fostering goodwill among company employees. While an employee purchase program is a great idea, many organizations often find that it is complicated and expensive to administer internally. To create such a program, decommissioned assets must be appraised, collected, and posted for sale. Once sold, the assets must be distributed to the employee buyer and payment must be collected. When coordinated by internal personnel, this process can become a time-consuming effort, distracting them from accomplishing revenue-generating tasks. Recycletronics offers a simple, cost-effective, and streamlined solution. We collect, inventory, and appraise all decommissioned assets and create a private Web site for the sale of these assets to our client’s employees. Discounted prices for these assets are set by our client based on our appraisal of the fair value of each asset in the market. Employees can then access the Web site and purchase assets directly from Recycletronics. We collect the money, distribute the equipment, and deliver payment to our client, thereby reducing the amount of attention necessary by the management of our client’s organization
We typically only determine equipment to be obsolete if the value of the decommissioned asset is so low that resale, donation, or employee buy-back options are not attractive. In this scenario, Recycletronics will coordinate the disposal of our clients' obsolete technology assets. Environmental factors come into play when disposing of technology. Therefore, we maintain our EPA certification as handler and processor of computer and electronics surplus. Also we can have these assets destroyed or recycled in accordance with federal and state environmental rules and regulations. In order to protect our clients from any liability associated with the irresponsible destruction/disposal of technology surplus, we can provide them with a certificate of indemnification.
Recycletronics understands that often our clients just want to make the problem of excess technology equipment "go away." If that is the case, we offer this simple solution:
Recycletronics will buy your technology assets. Our experience in the technology aftermarket allows us to appraise and offer fair value for your decommissioned equipment. We can coordinate the deinstallation and removal and put cash in your pocket faster than anyone else.
